FAQ
Frequently Asked Question
What is an Integrative Holistic Approach to Counselling?
Our integrative holistic counselling method embraces you as a complete individual, tending to your mental health as well as your physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs. Rather than solely concentrating on any specific illness or condition, this approach prioritises your comprehensive well-being.
Do you accept Mental Health Care Plans?
Good news! We don't require a Mental Health Care Plan or a referral from your GP to provide our services. Mental Health Care Plans are typically for Registered and Clinical Psychologists who specialise in diagnosing and managing mental health disorders. If you need a mental health diagnosis, we suggest scheduling an appointment with your GP for a referral to a local Psychologist. However, if you need us to communicate with your medical team for your Care Plan, we're happy to arrange that for you.
Is a Medicare rebate available?
Currently, not all counselling services are covered by Medicare in Australia. However, our pricing is structured to remain affordable and competitive with similar services. If you have any questions about our pricing or would like to explore payment plan options, please feel free to contact us. We're here to assist you.
What Can You Anticipate at Your First Appointment?
Your initial session is akin to a warm introduction. It's a chance for both you and Angelina to become better acquainted. It's common to feel vulnerable or emotional during this time, and that's perfectly natural. By the session's end, you'll collaborate on a plan for the future, including ongoing sessions, setting goals, and discussing your preferences for therapeutic approaches. These may include options such as art, music, worksheets, tools, or traditional talk therapy.
How are sessions structured?
There's no specific number of sessions you're required to commit to. Each person's journey is unique, and the duration of therapy varies based on your goals and needs. While it's common to begin with four to six sessions, Angelina will collaborate with you to determine the most suitable frequency based on your circumstances.
Additionally, our sessions are typically available in either 50 or 90-minute times to accommodate different preferences and needs.
What payment options do you offer?
We offer a variety of payment methods for your convenience. You can choose to pay by cash, direct deposit, BPAY, or card payments. Payment is required after each session.
Additionally, we offer the option to pay for sessions in bulk in advance, which may qualify you for a discounted rate. Feel free to inquire about this option during your session, and we'll be happy to provide more information.
Cancellation Policy:
We kindly ask for at least 48 hours' notice if you need to cancel your appointment. Failure to provide sufficient notice may result in a fee equivalent to the missed session.
If you prefer to change an in-person appointment to a Telehealth or phone consultation, we can accommodate this with a minimum of 1 hour's notice. Please let us know in advance, and we'll be happy to make the necessary arrangements.
